Software Support Technician

Basic Function:
Assist with developing and implementing solutions that will provide functionality and efficiency relating to the administrative computing systems to deliver current software that meets the campus needs.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
( Indicates non-essential function) Assist the Assistant Director of Enterprise Systems in implementing both short-term and long-term strategic plans related to the administrative computing systems of the College.
At the direction of the Assistant Director of Enterprise Systems, develop debug and deploy SQL code, scripts, reports, data extracts and data imports using current tools and best practices of data manipulation and protection.
Provide expert and basic assistance to users and Information Technology staff in the utilization of administrative computing functionality.
Provide excellent customer service at all times under any conditions.
Ensure customers have the data, tools and understanding of the Enterprise systems to ensure their ability to perform their job functions.
Resolve user problems, answer questions, and fulfill user requests as assigned.
Recommend process improvement by analyzing current end-user processes and procedures with goal toward process optimization, reduction of duplicate data collection/input, and reduction of unnecessary paper processes.
Assist with systematic maintenance of the administrative computing systems in coordination with the Assistant Director of Enterprise Systems.
Assist with maintaining user accounts on the administrative computing systems.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Performance Standards:

Good working knowledge of SQL, scripting and/or programming technologies.

Quick learner who can research and learn new technologies with minimal training.
Organized and can maintain neat, organized storage and work areas.

Meet objectives in a timely and effective manner and strives to fulfill the college's strategic agenda.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma with emphasis/experience in programming, relational databases or SQL technologies.
Associate degree or higher preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and evidence of flexibility to perform multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of quality.
Experience with Jenzabar J1 applications or other higher education administrative software packages.
Working experience with either SQL or Cognos Reporting Suite Recommended Skills Administration Cognos Communication Curiosity Customer Service Data Collection Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
